REVIEW! Her Demonic Angel by Felicity Heaton!

Hey Book Lovers!

A nice follow up from my interview with Felicity Heaton and so I welcome you all to my review of Her Demonic Angel!

Her Demonic Angel by Felicity Heaton

A demonic angel with a heart of ice, Veiron walks a dark path with vengeance on his mind. Nothing will sway him from his mission to destroy his master... until he risks his life to enter Hell once more to save a mortal female. The fiery beauty makes him burn with hungers he must battle and needs he cannot deny, tempting him to surrender body and soul to her.

Erin is convinced her refusal to do the Devil’s bidding will see her die in a terrifying realm straight out of her nightmares. The last thing she expects is the lethally sensual warrior who breaks into her cell and awakens the darkest desires of her heart and a fierce longing to know the heat of his caress.

Pulled into an incredible world where war is set to ignite and darkness is on the rise, Erin races with Veiron to escape the Devil’s legions in a journey fraught with danger and filled with passion that flares white-hot.

When Erin is faced with a life-shattering realisation and an extraordinary destiny, will their love give them the strength to battle both Heaven and Hell or will they be parted forever?

Halloween with fangs interview + giveaway with C.J.Ellisson

Hey Book Lovers!

Boy! Do I have a treat for you today! Please give a warm welcome to C.J.Ellison, author of Vampire Vacation!

1. Hi, C.J. Ellisson! I am so thrilled to have you here today! Please give us some background, to my followers, about The VV Inn series.

Thanks for having me! The vampire series I've written is a mix of suspense, intrigue, adventure, humor, and lots of sex. I can't really call it a romance since they're a married couple, but since I love reading good stories with heat I couldn't resist adding the erotic elements. The basic premise is an ancient vampire hiding a secret lives in a remote Alaskan location with her human husband, running a Fantasy Island type of getaway for her fellow undead. A dead body turns up in chapter one and the fun begins!
2. What inspires you to write?

Real life, things I read, and a great imagination! Inspiration can come form all around us. We just have to pay attention and take notes when an idea hits.

3. When did you decide to be an author?
I started writing as an escape. It was only when a friend who's a professional editor told me I was a natural that I started to dream it could really happen. I've only been writing for three and a half years. I'm still struggling to maintain a balance between home life, writing, and health. It's a daily challenge to say the least!
4. What other paranormal beings have you written about?

My adult series contains vampires, werewolves, shifters, witches, and wizards. The middle-grade book I'm penning for my kids contains some supernatural elements via fairies, people who share a bond with a certain type of animal, and physic powers.
5. Do you have any hobbies?

I love to read (gee, big surprise) and before I became a writer I used to read three to five books a week. Now it's closer to one, depending on my current deadline. I also like to garden, take pictures, hike, go camping, cook, do crafts with my kids, walk my dogs, and play board games.

6. I love Halloween! Is Halloween your favourite holiday? If not then what is?
I do love Halloween! We decorate the inside of the house, the whole front yard, and some years even throw big neighborhood parties. I also love Christmas. We're not religious, but decorating the house and celebrating with friends and family for the weeks before and after the holidays is always a favourite at our house, too.
7. What are you dressing up as for Halloween?

This year I'm going to be at the Anne Rice Vampire Ball and Undead Con in New Orleans for the weekend prior to Halloween. I plan on dressing up as a vampire. For home, my husband and I have some costumes we never got to wear last year -- a Scottish Lass and Lord. The costumes were a little on the sexy side and we went to Disney with the kids, which was a unique experience, so we left them at home.
8. Do you have any Halloween recipes to share with us?

None, I'm lame. Sorry! I cook a lot, but recently have been focusing on low sugar, low salt, gluten free, and no processed foods. It's more work than I'd like, but I'm feeling better so the incentive to keep at it is strong.

9. What books can we except from you in the future?
I've recently finished a contemporary erotic romance called Vanilla Dom. It's the story of a shy woman discovering her sexuality and confidence and an ambitious man discovering what he values above all else in life, even over money. It's the first book in a new series, and there are three plotted titles for this couple.

Next in my vampire series is a request from readers. I'm writing a prequel story detailing how the sexy werewolf Jonathan came to be Vivian's vampire servant. The book is plotted and started. I'm excited to share it with readers and hope to have it our this winter.
 10. Is there anything else you'd like to add or tell us about you, your books, or anything at all?

Thanks for the great interview, Michelle! I'd like to encourage readers to stop by my website at www.cjellisson.com and click on the books tab. I've got half of my books posted for free to introduce readers to the style and voice of my work before they buy. If they have an eReader, they should search for Just One Taste at their favourite online retailer. It's a freebie eBook of the first half of Vampire Vacation, book one in the V V Inn series -- a great way to sample the book instead of reading on the computer.
VAMPIRE VACATION BY C.J.ELLISSON!

Meet Vivian. She’s a 580-year-old vampire who exudes sex, has a talent for drama, and is passionate about two things: her human husband, Rafe, and their resort for the undead. Her ability to project physical illusions has created the perfect vacation spot—a dark, isolated Alaskan hideaway where visitors can have their wildest fantasies come true.

Vivian knows the best performance requires perfect timing, but the powerful vamp is put to the test when she discovers a corpse in a locked guestroom minutes before the next arrivals. Always cool-headed, Rafe hides the body, convinced he and Vivian can find the culprit without disturbing their guests.

Juggling the increasingly outrageous demands of their customers while tracking a killer isn’t easy. Will their poking and prodding give them the answers they need, or will it uncover secrets Vivian would kill to protect?

Howl For It! Review

Hey Book Lovers!

WED OR DEAD – by Cynthia Eden

Gage Ryder knew his human bride had a wild side. But spending their honeymoon night on the run from hunters out to finish him and his pack is sure not the kind of fun he was looking forward to. No problem–Gage will do whatever it takes to lay bare Kayla’s secrets and find the truth.  If he can keep from being captured by his own seductive game.

LIKE A WOLF WITH A BONE – by Shelly Laurenston

Quiet little Darla Lewis couldn’t be happier when the most-feared member of the South’s rowdiest pack kidnaps her.  A girl gets real tired of being overprotected by her own shifter family, and there’s nothing like an oh-so-big bad wolf to start a pack feud, unleash her instincts–and have her surrender however and whenever she wants…

I have always loved reading Cynthia and Shelly's books because no matter what mood I'm in.....they always cheer me up! So as I started reading this book, I couldn't help but wonder what I was in for. I mean, would I cry or laugh or shout 'Bad! Don't do it!'. But to be honest the book was amazing and wonderful to read. It was everything I excepted it to be and more.....so much more! Shelly and Cynthia have really out done themselves with Howl For It! I am really looking forward to reading their future books.

I won't spoil the book for you because I want you to experience the magical book for yourself!

I give this book 5 stars!

Kinky Halloween interview and giveaway with Isis Pierce

Hey Book Lovers!

Big surprise for you all! Please welcome Isis Pierce! :D

1. Hi, Isis! I am so thrilled to have you here today! Please give us some background, to my followers, about Riding Professer Cox.

Hi Michelle! Thanks for having me on your blog! Riding Professor Cox is an erotic short story with Nikki Graham and her hot professor Adam Cox. She waits six months to get into his Mythology class because he's a delicious looking man. Once in his class, she immediately starts to fail because during the class she's so distracted by his husky voice and his tight black jeans. Did I mention no one at the College ever confronts the Professor about his casual dress code? He gets away with wearing tight clothes and tight wife-beaters. As you can imagine, its mostly females that sign up for his class.

Professor Adam Cox is a dominant alpha male, who eventually gets seduced by Nikki, to help improve her grade. He refuses her and then sparks fly.

2. What inspires you to write?

Everything and anything. A lot of the times a story starts out small with just a kernel of information, and you'll add a bit of info here and there and all of a sudden that kernel has turned into a story. I like erotica and romances as well and I'm sure that plays a part of wanting to write in this genre.

3. Will you write Riding Professor Cox part 2?

Because I'm sure some of my followers will love to find out what happens on Thursday hehehe! I do have plans to do a Riding Professor Cox part 2 and even possibly a part 3 or 4...depending on my muse. It will be a bit of time before I jump back into my Professor story though because I'm currently working on five other Paranormal Erotica/Romances. Though if readers would like to keep updated with new releases they can always follow me on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/pages/Isis-Pierce/468371513174114

4. Where did you get the idea to write Riding Professor Cox?

I'm not sure, I just started writing and Professor Cox came of it. I've always liked that taboo/spicy and trying to seduce your teacher for your grade is an enticing and hot thought so I just went with it.

5. Is Halloween your favorite holiday?

Oddly no. My favorite holiday would probably be Thanksgiving because its a day about giving thanks and being grateful to what and who you have in your life (though that should be all the time and not just on Thanksgiving) and besides that, Thanksgiving has Pumpkin Pie!

6. Would you ever write a Halloween themed book?

That's an idea, maybe a costume party with some paranormal characters and the main character is human and doesn't realize those claws she's gripping are real. Yes, I'd consider doing a Halloween themed book, could be a lot of fun.

7. What are you doing for Halloween?

I'm actually hoping to talk a friend into going to a book signing with Karen Marie Moning, which is only a few hours away.

8. Do you have any Halloween recipes to share with us?

Yes, this one is fun, creepy, but delicious.

Creepy-Crawly Bugs Recipe

Ingredients
1 tube (11 ounces) refrigerated breadsticks
8 smoked sausage links or hot dogs
1/2 to 3/4 cup potato sticks
Ketchup and/or mustard
Directions
Separate dough into strips. Unroll and cut eight strips in half widthwise; set remaining strips aside. Cut sausages in half widthwise. Wrap one piece of dough around each sausage, leaving the rounded end showing. Place seam side down on an ungreased baking sheet. Place reserved breadsticks on baking sheet.
Bake at 350° for 15-17 minutes or until golden brown. Remove bugs to a serving plate and cool for 2 minutes.
Insert potato sticks into baked dough to resemble legs and antennae. Decorate with ketchup and/or mustard. Serve warm. Save remaining breadsticks for another use. Yield: 8 servings.

Editor's Note: Refrigerated crescent rolls may be used in place of the breadsticks. Follow package directions for baking temperature and time.

9. What books can we expect from you in the future?

You can expect some more sexy short reads having to do with Professor Adam Cox and his naughty assistant Justin. I'm also working on my Seduction series, which so far is five different stories but they intertwine with each other: Like some of the characters having best friends in other stories and relatives.

The first story is Royal Seduction and will feature Neva and her Dragon Mates Devon and Evan. Neva gets dragged to a new paranormal nightclub (which the brothers own) Let's just say when her friend Misty takes them out places, they are lucky if they don't get arrested. This series is more of a Paranormal Erotic/Romance series. I wanted more background information on the characters, and HEA (Happily Ever After's) but I also want hot, spicy sex that you normally can't find in regular Romances.

If you like Paranormal Romances with hot Alpha, Dominant males you'll love my Seduction Series.

10. Is there anything else you'd like to add about you, your books or just anything at all?

Hmmm... a broad question!
I'm a Virgo, I love Mythology and Cats. My newest addiction is 5 Hour Energy shots (those little things are amazing for creativity and energy). Above all, I'm a Reader, not just a Writer. I try to make my stories exciting and I view them as a reader when they are done. Hopefully that turns into a smoking read for everyone else!

I'd love if you all came and stalked me on my facebook page, listed above if you'd like to keep up to date with new covers, new releases, etc.

Thanks so much Michelle for having me, its been a real treat! Maybe you should tell the fans what your favorite part of Riding Professor Cox was?

Thank you so much for being here today, Isis!  And that was such a wonderful interview! :D My favourite part of Riding Professor Cox was when he walked in on his TA and Nikki....and I can't stop giggling because it's such a cringe moments and such a good moment for Professor Cox to shout and yell! Hehehehehe! Also I'm really looking forward to reading your future books that you've been teasing me with via Facebook.

RIDING PROFESSOR COX BY ISIS PIERCE

College student Nikki Graham has a problem...a big, sexy problem named Professor Adam Cox. She's waited six months to get a spot in his very popular mythology class, but she can't keep her mind (or her eyes) focused on the Greek gods in the textbook, because she's too busy ogling the Greek god teaching the class. With her grade failing faster than the batteries in her vibrator, it's going to take some quick thinking to salvage her GPA. Good thing she's willing to do whatever it takes to land that easy A...BLURB:

I started when the door suddenly opened. A guy my age stumbled in, his hands full of folders and notes. He glanced over at me and nearly dropped his things. He was pretty cute, with black hair that brushed his chin and dark blue eyes. He looked to be about five-nine and had a lean swimmer's build. "Sorry," he said, "I didn't realize anyone else was in here. I'm Professor Adam's TA, and I normally come in here at this time to help grade papers."
A light bulb went off in my mind. I eyed him speculatively and wondered if I could enlist his help in improving my grade. After all, if Professor Adam didn't want to take me up on my offer, I could almost bet this boy would.
I looked up and caught his gaze wandering up and down my body with an appreciative look. My nipples hardened at the attention, and his eyes locked on my chest while he waited for my reply. "It's okay. I just had to stay after class to talk to the professor about my grade." I sighed, moving a bit closer to the TA. "He rushed out of here pretty quickly, though, and I don't think he's coming back. He left before we could resolve my grade issue." I stuck my hand out. "My name is Nikki, what's yours?"
When he reached out to take my hand, I pulled him until our bodies were flush and my breasts pressed against his hard chest. I heard his breath catch at the contact. "J-Justin," he stuttered. "My name is Justin."
I grinned up at him. "Well, Justin, do you think you might be able to help me out with my grade?" I reached down and grabbed the noticeable bulge in his jeans, giving it a quick squeeze and then running my hand along his shaft in an up-and-down motion.

Halloween with wings interview and giveaway with Felicity Heaton

Hey Book Lovers!

Today I have a special treat for you all to flap your wings at! Please give a warm welcome to Felicity Heaton, author of Her Demonic Angel!

1. Hi, Felicity! I am so thrilled to have you here today. Please give us some background, to my followers, about Her Demonic Angel.

Her Demonic Angel is the fifth book in my Her Angel romance series, but that doesn’t mean you have to know all the books to understand what happens in it. Readers will definitely get more enjoyment from the book if they’ve read Her Guardian Angel, but it’s not necessary.

Her Demonic Angel is about Veiron, a Hell’s angel who has turned his back on his master and is aiding a couple, Amelia and Marcus, in their quest to end an eternal game that Heaven and Hell is playing with them all. When he’s asked to go into Hell to save the younger sister of Amelia, all he wants to do is say no, but he agrees to give it a shot.

Veiron has a heart of ice and he’s driven by his lust for vengeance against the Devil. He’s focused on that mission and he isn’t about to let anyone sway him from his path, until he meets Erin in Hell. She awakens dangerous feelings in Veiron, thawing the ice around his heart, and he begins an internal battle against the burning desire that ignites between them.

The moment Erin sets eyes on Veiron, she knows that she wants him. As they trek through Hell, she discovers that Veiron is a local and also a fallen angel. It doesn’t change her growing feelings for the lethally sensual warrior. If anything, it only makes her want him all the more. But Veiron is more than just fallen, and he fears that it will come between them because it was Hell’s angels who snatched Erin from her apartment and brought her to the Devil.

Her Demonic Angel is available in ebook from Amazon Kindle, Apple iBookstores, Kobo Books and other retailers. It’s available in paperback from Amazon too. All of the links and an 8 chapter sample download are available on my website: http://www.felicityheaton.co.uk/ebooks.php?title=Her%20Demonic%20Angel

2. What inspired you to write Her Angel Series?

The Her Angel series came to me because I was walking to work one day questioning a plot idea I had been writing down notes for. It was a vampire romance at the time but I wanted to see how I could make it different, and then for some reason I decided to see if it would work better with angels rather than vampires as the protagonists. It would. Because I started thinking about angels for that story, I started thinking about them in general too, and what it would be like to have an angel series where the angels weren’t fallen and were still working for a higher power, but while they were messengers of God, they were their own beings too, able to make their own decisions and pursue their own passions without castigation. They’re all male and they’re passionate, frivolous at times, and like to bend the rules as much as they can without breaking the ones still in place, and they’re curious about anything that was previously forbidden, such as alcohol and other things, just like a human would be. I came up with the Her Angel series then, and in each book I explore how heroines of mortal, demon, witch or any other species would react to an angel and how far those angels would go to convince their heroine that love between them isn’t forbidden. Would they renounce their master? Would their heroine allow them to do such a thing?

From there, the series and the world in it really expanded. The first novel, Her Guardian Angel, is the starting point for one of the main story arcs in the series. The first three books were novellas and focused on the romance with individual events taking place in the world. Her Guardian Angel switched the focus to a major eternal battle between Heaven and Hell, and upped the stakes for everyone in the series so far.

Her Demonic Angel continues the angels’ fight against the game but this time we’re with a Hell’s angel, Veiron, as he tries to find a way to end the game and have revenge on Heaven and Hell.

At the moment, I’m offering the first novella in the series for free at selected Amazon Kindle, Apple iBookstores and Kobo Books sites. Readers can find all the links and read a sample of Her Dark Angel at the following page: http://www.felicityheaton.co.uk/herdarkangel/

3. Do you plan to continue the series or just end it with Veiron?

The series will continue. I’ve decided that Asmodeus will have his story told next, so we’ll be heading back into Hell. Expect to see a lot of Apollyon, as well as Veiron and Erin in this next one, and Nevar will be in it too.

4. Would you ever do a book tour?

I do a lot of blog book tours. I’m not sure I would ever consider touring bookstores. I don’t think I would attract a very large crowd at this point in my career and I can picture me sitting and looking very lonely behind a stack of unsold books. I am considering doing a convention next year though.

5. What is your favourite paranormal creature to write about and why?

I can’t resist vampires. They’re my first love. I really like writing shifters, angels, demons, witches, and fae and gods now too, but I’ll always come back to the vampires. I find the whole mythology behind them fascinating and there is so much I can do with them, tweaking certain elements about them all the time to come up with something new.

6. What are you doing for Halloween?

I’m not doing anything this year. My sister normally has a small party for our family, but my aunty passed away in the summer and her birthday was around Halloween, so we’re not celebrating this year.

7. Do you have any Halloween recipes to share with us?

Unfortunately not. I always look at the fantastic cupcake recipes online and I love their decorations. Maybe one year I’ll have the time to do something wild and wacky for Halloween.

8. Would you ever write a Halloween themed book?

I have written stories for release around Halloween, but I don’t think I’ve ever written anything that involved Halloween. I’m more of a Christmas girl. I’ve featured Christmas in a few of my books.

9. Is there anything else you'd like to add or tell us about you, your books or just anything?

Thanks for having me here and interviewing me. If readers are interested in learning more about my paranormal romance books and series, they can visit me at my website: http://www.felicityheaton.co.uk

Her Demonic Angel – Excerpt

The door opened behind her and Erin didn’t make the mistake of whirling to face the visitor this time.

She turned slowly, expecting to find either the Devil or one of his cronies come to torment her.

It was neither.

A bloodstained and beaten man wearing tight black jeans that emphasised the thickness of his thighs and a black t-shirt that stretched across the impressive hard cut breadth of his chest stood in the doorway.

He was holding a very big sword.

Erin swallowed.

Had he come to kill her?

She glanced back at the abyss below her feet. What would be a better and less painful death? Falling to this scarlet-haired man’s sword or plummeting into the volcanic river?

“Erin, I presume?” His deep voice wrapped around her and Erin couldn’t miss the concern that laced the weariness and irritation in it.

Erin looked back at him.

He slid the broadsword down his back and scrubbed his hand across several days’ worth of dark growth on his handsome face.

One good-looking man had fooled her already and it wasn’t going to happen again. This man was every bit as lethal, brutal and vicious as the Devil. It was there in his eyes and the way he held himself, legs spread in a warrior’s stance, ready for a fight.

He looked as though he had already been through several battles recently. Now that she looked closer, she spotted tears in his t-shirt that revealed startlingly enticing glimpses of hard packed muscles.

Erin dragged her gaze down to her own feet.

She must have lost it in the past few days. She had finally plunged into crazy, her mind frazzled by her captivity and being in Hell. She had to be insane to be ogling the man who had clearly come to kill her.

“Why don’t you just do it and get this over with?” she said, feeling a spark of defiance ignite in her chest. If she was going to die, she might as well go down fighting.

“Excuse me?” He frowned at her, a quizzical look filling his dark eyes. “Get what over with?”

“Killing me.”

His dark red eyebrows pinched together. “If you’re not Erin, I might.”

It was her turn to frown. “You don’t want to kill me?”

“Are you Erin?”

She nodded.

“Then I don’t want to kill you.” He stepped into her cell and she noted that he didn’t bother to stay close to the door. If she were entering a cell on a mission to save someone, she would certainly keep one foot in the door in case a bad guy came along and shut them both in. Did he have another means of escape if that happened? He raked dark eyes over her and she shivered under the heat of his gaze. “You are not what I was expecting.”

“Ditto,” she said and shrugged when he looked into her eyes, confusion lighting his again. “I was expecting the Devil to come back.”

“The snide little fucker actually paid you a visit in person?”

Erin frowned at how casually he badmouthed the Devil, as though he wasn’t afraid of him. She stared at the man, taking in his impressive height and build. He was taller than the Devil and much broader too, thick sinewy muscles visible beneath his tight clothing. His biceps were huge, so large she would struggle to wrap both of her hands around one arm. Her fingertips and thumbs wouldn’t touch if she tried. Matching black and red tribal tattoos curled around those biceps, a tantalising peek of a larger design that disappeared under the sleeves of his t-shirt.

Erin found herself wanting to strip his top off to see the rest of it.

She really had lost her mind.

“Are you alright?” He frowned again.

“Just a little brain damage,” she said, trying to make light of everything.

He crossed the black floor and stopped before her, towering close to a foot over her, his immense body overshadowing hers and making her feel tiny. He slid one large hand along the line of her jaw, tilted her head back, and stared down into her eyes.

Erin swallowed. It should be illegal for a man to be so handsome yet so lethal-looking. He screamed danger but she wasn’t quaking under his touch because of it. It was a whole other feeling that had her trembling.

“You don’t look crazy,” he whispered and she added his sultry low voice to the list of reasons someone should stamp him with the words ‘dangerous’ and ‘forbidden’. “Now... all opposed to being rescued, raise your hands, otherwise, I’d like to get the fuck out of here.”

Erin didn’t argue, not even when he clamped one strong large hand around her slender wrist and drew the broadsword strapped to his back with the other. She stared at the open door, battling a flood of emotions that threatened to sweep her under. Freedom. This man was here to save her. It was too sweet and glorious to believe. It had to be a cruel trick, another form of torture to break her.

She didn’t have much time to take in what was really happening when he pulled her over the threshold and into a long black corridor that ran between the cells. Before she could even glance back at the cell that had been her home for God only knew how many days, he was dragging her along the hallway.

“Can you run?” He glanced over his broad shoulders at her and didn’t give her a chance to respond before he started at a pace.

Erin tried to keep up. The prospect of actually surviving and escaping Hell flooded her with adrenaline that had her bare feet moving but she couldn’t match his long strides. A bright flash blinded her but it didn’t slow her companion. He kept running. They passed a large open room and she turned her head in time to see several dead bodies strewn across a floor slick with blood. More flashes lit the darkness and with each one, a body disappeared.

They looked like humans. Had the man killed them to reach her? What was that light and why were they disappearing?

She started to ask but her gaze settled on the hard angles of his profile and the stern set of his jaw and she thought better of it. This man was her ticket out of Hell and she wasn’t about to piss him off, not when she had the impression that he was quite content with killing.

Erin pounded along the black-walled corridor beside him, her legs beginning to tire and each step jarring her bones and sending pain shooting across the soles of her feet. She lost her footing on one of the sets of steps that led downwards and almost fell. The man’s hand on her wrist stopped her. He pulled her up by her arm as though she was nothing but a ragdoll in his hands, suspending her off the ground for a second before setting her down again.

“You are weak,” he said and she bristled at the double meaning in his words. He wasn’t just saying she was weak from her captivity, but that he thought she was weak period.

Erin snatched her wrist free of his grasp and rubbed it. She turned her nose up and stormed ahead of him, feeling crazy for taking the lead when she didn’t know where she was going and she didn’t have a weapon, or the knowledge of how to wield one. She couldn’t let him think she was weak though.

He followed behind her, a dark shadow barely a few feet from her, his footsteps almost silent.

They reached a split in the corridor and Erin paused. Neither of the avenues she could take looked inviting. Both were pitch-black and voices came from one. Or was it the other? Everything echoed in the corridors and it was hard to distinguish which would lead her to a grisly death and which would lead her to freedom.

She chose the right.

The man grabbed her around the waist from behind, twisted her in his arm, and slung her over his shoulder.

Erin struggled and his arm tightened against her back, causing his thick shoulder to press into her stomach. Her organs protested, sharp pain lancing each one.

“You’ll fall off. I need to move fast and you’re slowing me down.”

Well, that was just rude. Erin punched his backside. God, it was like a rock. She almost purred. Could this man get any smexier?

“You can’t carry me and fight your way out of here.”

He laughed, the warm timbre of it echoing around the dark walls. “Believe me, Sweetheart, I can fight with both hands tied behind my back. You’re no hindrance at all.”

He jogged down the left corridor with her, each step jolting her on his shoulder until she felt close to losing what little remained of the last thing she ate. Erin grabbed his leather belt, hooked her thumbs into the waist of his jeans and pushed herself up enough that it didn’t hurt as much as he ran.

This was just embarrassing now.

It was bad enough having her rescuer belittle her.

Having him carry her fireman-style to freedom was making her wish he had left her in her cell.

Warm fresh air assaulted her, as fresh as Hell got anyway, and she looked up to see the huge black walls of the prison fortress bouncing away from her.

“You can put me down now,” she said but he didn’t hear her. Either that or he was ignoring her. She was tempted to punch him on the backside again but gave up and let him have his way.

The jagged towers of the prison slowly wobbled into the distance and were lost from view behind the spires of black rock that lined the path her hero had chosen. Vents in their sides and tops belched hot acrid smoke that stole her breath. She pulled his black t-shirt up, exposing a lean delicious back, and covered her mouth with it. How the hell could he run in this?

Erin wanted to be sick.

She counted the bounces in his step to keep her focus off the horrendous smell of rotten eggs invading her lungs and the increasing number of bleached bones that lined the path as though someone had kicked the bodies out of the way and just let them rot there. Or perhaps some smaller creature had picked the bones clean. There were grooves in some of them, as though sharp teeth and claws had scraped them. Erin hoped it had happened after death and that the screams still ringing in her ears weren’t the death cries of people being eaten alive.

The man managed over three hundred steps before he finally stopped and set her down with surprising care in a wide clearing.

“Are you alright?” He held her at arm’s length, looking her over.

Her blood heated when his dark eyes lingered on her breasts and then the tiny shorts she wore.

“Do you always dress like this?” He raised an eyebrow.

Erin folded her arms across her chest, covering her breasts. The black pebbles of the path cut into the bare soles of her feet. “I was in bed when they took me.”

He ran his gaze over her again and a touch of crimson ringed his dark irises.

Erin took a step backwards.

That had to be a reflection of their fiery surroundings. It had to be.

Mr Tall, Dark and Deadly couldn’t be something straight out of Hell.
